My idea of "Functional Art"
burdy fly away spawned out of my need for a creative outlet while staying home and raising my two amazing boys. I have always been crafty and have adapted what I love into what I can do while chasing two little men. Stressful, yes, but I would'nt have it any other way.
I start with quality onesie and tees, as much in organic as I can get. I hand dye to get unique, vibrant, and different colors. Than using eco-spun felt, I hand cut little pieces of art. They are then stiched with my sewing machine, it is me and the sewing machine drawing and adding detail to each piece. I than finish with hand screenprinted drawings or saying's to make them complete. Each item is handmade and unique. It feels good to make clothing as unique as the little bundles that will wear them.
